What is MajorGuide?
MajorGuide is a college major and career planning platform. It helps students explore 1,000+ fields of study, compare salaries, review job growth data, and get personalized guidance through AI-powered tools.
Who is MajorGuide for?
MajorGuide is designed for high school students exploring college options, current college students reconsidering their major, advisors who want data-driven tools for their students, and school administrators looking for a scalable career guidance solution.
Is MajorGuide free to use?
Yes, a free tier is available. It includes access to the major explorer, salary data, and a limited number of AI advisor questions per month. Pro and CareerPro plans unlock the full feature set, including unlimited AI chat, resume tools, and advanced career simulations.
Features
How does the AI Advisor work?
The AI Advisor uses a large language model trained on career data, BLS salary statistics, and real student outcome research. You can ask it anything about a specific major, compare two career paths, or get a personalized recommendation based on your interests and goals. Conversations are private and not shared.
What is the Major Match Quiz?
The Major Match Quiz asks a series of questions about your interests, work style, and values. It then scores your responses against a database of majors and recommends the top matches. You can retake it as many times as you like.
What does the Resume Builder do?
The Resume Builder helps you create a professional resume tailored to a specific job or major. The Resume Tailor AI analyzes a job description and suggests which of your experiences to highlight. The LinkedIn Optimizer feature generates a matching summary for your LinkedIn profile.
What is TypingPro?
TypingPro is a collection of 16+ typing games and drills designed to improve your typing speed and accuracy. Games include career-themed scenarios, competitive speed challenges, and focused skill drills. It is included in all plans.

What is included in the Free plan?
The Free plan includes full access to the major explorer, salary and job growth data, the Major Match Quiz, TypingPro games, and up to 10 AI advisor messages per month.
What does Pro add over Free?
Pro adds unlimited AI advisor access, the Interview Simulator, the Career Roadmap builder, the Resume Builder, and the Salary Challenge game. Pro is billed monthly or annually.
What is CareerPro?
CareerPro is the highest individual tier. It includes everything in Pro plus the LinkedIn Optimizer, Resume Tailor AI with unlimited tailoring sessions, priority AI response times, and early access to new features.
Are there plans for schools?
Yes. School plans are available with bulk seat licensing, a school admin dashboard, and ClassLink or other SSO integration. Pricing is based on enrolled student count. Contact us for a quote.
School and Admin
How does ClassLink SSO work with MajorGuide?
MajorGuide is a ClassLink-verified app (Partner Portal ID 4950). School IT admins can add MajorGuide to their ClassLink roster. Students sign in through their existing ClassLink account with no separate password needed. Rostering is handled automatically via ClassLink Roster Server.
Can admins see student activity?
School admins have access to an aggregate dashboard showing platform usage, quiz completion rates, and feature adoption. Admins do not see individual student AI conversations, resume content, or quiz answers, as that data belongs to the student.
How does bulk licensing work?
After signing a school agreement, the admin receives a license code. Students who sign in via the school SSO are automatically granted the licensed plan tier. Unused seats do not carry over between contract periods.
Privacy and Data
Is MajorGuide FERPA compliant?
Yes. MajorGuide acts as a school official under FERPA when deployed through a school agreement. We do not sell or share student education records. Data is used only to provide the service.
How long is student data retained?
Account data is retained for the duration of the active subscription plus 90 days after cancellation or account deletion. Schools can request deletion of all student records at any time by contacting support.
Is MajorGuide COPPA compliant?
MajorGuide is designed for students 13 and older. For school deployments serving students under 13, the school provides verifiable parental consent as part of the district agreement, consistent with COPPA requirements.
Is my data sold to third parties?
No. MajorGuide does not sell personal data to advertisers or third parties. Anonymized, aggregated usage data may be used internally to improve features.
